King Charles hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace after Duchess Sophie’s successful US visit for a major reason.
The Royal family shared the details of Duchess Sophie’s US visit on their official social media handle.
The statement wrote, “This week, the Duchess of Edinburgh was in New York to participate in the 69th Commission of the United Nations on the status of women.
“Duchess attended the meeting – globally on gender equality – as the global ambassador of @AiAPB and the United Nations women, a champion of peace and security (WPS) agenda.”
It further said, “In a main address at the United Nations Friends of Vision Group Meeting, his Royal Highness highlighted the significant relationship between eye health and gender equality.”
Duchess, as the patron of Plan International, attended a meeting with young advocates from Lebanon, Ethiopia, Peru and Jordan, who shared his experiences of living life through conflict and crisis.
After the update about Sophie, in a joint statement, Water Aid UK said, “We are deeply honored that His Majesty will host water and climate reception at Buckingham Palace tonight, which will bring young leaders and decisions together to take care and action on climate change and water.”
It further said, during his time as a patron, the king has played an important role in bringing us closer to a world where everyone, everywhere, there is clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.
The Emperor has supported donations in several ways since 1991.
