New Delhi: Students of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have reported harassment and threats in India after a deadly attack in the disputed Himalayan region in India, killing more than two dozen Indian men, a student union said on Thursday.
The gunman killed 26 men-all of the Indian-Tuesday, the tourist Hotpot of Pahgam on all the Indian-Tuesday, except Nepali, the most deadly attack on civilians in the Muslim-Bahul region occupied since 2000.
The survivors said that the gunmen targeted the men, sparing people who could declare the belief in the Islamic declaration, the Indian media claimed.
Kashmiri students in states including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh were allegedly asked to release their rented apartments or university hostels on Wednesday, said Nasir Khoomi, the convenor of Jammu and Kashmir Students Association.
At a university in Himachal Pradesh, students were harassed and physically attacked after the hostel doors broke, Khuhami said.
He said that students were allegedly called “terrorists”.
“This is not just a security issue”, he said. “This is a deliberate and target campaign of hatred and destruction against students of a particular field and identity”.
In Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, about 20 students fled to the airport on Wednesday after a warning of a fringe right -wing Hindu Raksha Dal.
The students said that the group threatened the Kashmiri Muslim students that if they did not leave the city as soon as possible, they give serious consequences.
Freedom Fighters have struggled a freedom in IIOJK since 1989, demanding freedom or merger with Pakistan.
Indian security forces have launched a huge manhint in IIOJK for the attackers, in which a large number of people have been detained in the operation.
On Wednesday, New Delhi accused Islamabad of supporting the “cross -border terrorism” and downed a relationship with a fleet of diplomatic measures.
Pakistan has denied any role in the initiative attack.
