According to several reports, the Department of Justice has conducted a criminal investigation into two manhattan hotels being used as migrant shelters in two manhattan hotels.
According to CBS News, federal prosecutors sent a subponus to the Roosevelt Hotel, which was converted into a migrant shelter and intake center, as well as the Stewart Hotel, which was converted into a migrant shelter.
The prosecutors are seeking information about those who have stayed there, including their names and identifying the information.

Mayor Eric Adams says NYC’s Roosevelt Hotel Migrant shelter will soon be closed
A spokesman for Mayor Eric Adams told the outlet that it could not comment on any type of federal investigation. Fox News Digital has reached the Mayor’s Office and Justice Department for further information.
Currently in January 2024, there are less than 45,000 migrants in city care below 69,000 high. The taxpayers of New York City have paid billions of dollars to pay for housing for more than 232,000, which have reached New York City since the spring of 2022.

The Roosevelt Hotel, which has around 1,000 rooms, has processed over 173,000 migrants since its inauguration in May 2023 and has become the focal point of the city’s migrant crisis over the last two years, as it was the first stop for many border crossrs.
According to reports, the New York City Hotel agreed to pay up to $ 220 million, owned by the Government of Pakistan. According to former investment banker and writer John Leefevre, the deal was allegedly part of the $ 1.1 billion IMF (International Monetary Fund) Bellout Package to help Pakistan avoid lapses on its international debt.
Adams has announced that the shelter would soon be closed, the New York Post reported a closed time of June.
