Amman: Jordan on Wednesday dropped the country’s most vocal opposition group Muslim Brotherhood and seized his property after sabotaging the group members, found to be associated with a plot of sabotage, said internal minister Majen Freya.
There was no immediate comment from the movement, which has legally operated in Jordan for decades and has widespread grass-moral support in the scores of major urban centers and offices across the country.
Frayya said that all the activities of the group would be banned and anyone promoting its ideology will be held accountable by law.
He said that the ban involves publishing anything by the group and closing and seizing all its offices and property.
Opponents of Brotherhood, who are illegal in most Arab countries, say it is a dangerous terrorist group that should be crushed. The movement says that it publicly renounces violence decades ago and pursues an Islamic vision using peaceful means.
