Former Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie has taken legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) alleging unpaid financial dues after his resignation in December 2024.
Gilespi claims that the PCB has given him money for services provided during its tenure, including bonuses for a Test series win over England and an ODI win against Australia last year.
However, the board has denied claims, issuing a statement in a statement, resigning Gillespie for dissolving the terms of the contract by resigning without serving a four -month notice period.
“Pakistan Cricket Board denied the claims made by a former head coach on the non-payment of its dues,
As stated by sources, Gilppy said that the PCB did not honor the written financial assurance.
He has referred the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC), although it is not clear whether the ICC has the jurisdiction to mediate the dispute.
The PCB on Sunday issued a statement dismissing the claims of Gillespie, describing their exit without the required notice “clearly violation of the contractual conditions.” According to the board, it responded to the communication of Gillespie, repeated its stance and waited for the response to its representatives.
While the board has not confirmed whether it will demand compensation, officials have indicated that legal options are open. PCB officials say there is no outstanding payment due to Gillespie.
Breaking into the relationship allegedly began months before their resignation.
In October 2024, Gillespie was removed from the selection panel and said that his role was reduced to “Match Destagist”.
He was not selected for Pakistan’s coach on a tour of South Africa in November, in which Aqib Javed replaced him as an interim coach.
Gillespi resigned the day after informing his assistant Tim Nielsen when his contract would not be renewed, calling the decision another attempt to reduce his authority.
The day after PCB announces the discovery of a new head coach, legal events come. Akib Javed, who carried out a race of poor results during his interim tenure, will not be retained.
