Top diplomats of Japan, China and South Korea met in Tokyo on Saturday, in the midst of increasing global uncertainty, looking for common land on East Asian security and economic issues.

Japanese External Affairs Minister Takeshi Evea said at the beginning of a meeting in Tokyo with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and South Korean Foreign Minister Cha-Uul, “Given the rapid serious international situation, I believe that we can actually be at a significant turn in history.”

The three agreed to accelerate the preparations for a tripartite summit in Japan, including Tokyo, Beijing and Seoul that to deal with the decline and aging population in the birthtime and aging population, Ivea said in a joint announcement after the meeting.

The first meeting of Foreign Ministers of Japan, China and South Korea since 2023 comes in the form of decades -old alliances by US President Donald Trump, possibly traditionally to make a close relationship with countries traditionally aligned with Washington to open the door for China.

Wang said, “We have a joint population of about 1.6 billion in three countries and economic production of more than $ 24 trillion. With our vast markets and great capacity, we can have a significant impact,” Wang said. China, he, wants to resume free trade talks with its neighbors and expand the membership of the 15-Nation Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

However, deep partitions remain. Beijing is on several major issues with Tokyo and Seoul, including its support of North Korea, its acute military activity around Taiwan and Russia’s support in their war with Ukraine.

American Japan and South Korea, who host thousands of American troops, shares Washington’s idea that China-Duniya’s second largest economy-regional security is a growing threat to regional security.

Cho said that he had asked China to help North Korea to convince North Korea to leave his nuclear weapons.

He said, “I also insisted that illegal military cooperation between Russia and North Korea should stop immediately, and North Korea should not be rewarded for its wrongdoings while bringing about the end of war in Ukraine.”

IWay is to meet separately with its Chinese and South Korean counterparts, including the first high-level economic dialogue with Beijing in six years.

The meeting will include a discussion of the ban on Japanese seafood imports imposed by China after the release of wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant destroyed since 2023.
