IPL Super Over History: The IPL has seen more than 1100 games played in 18 seasons and 17 years and has so far ended only 14 matches with a deciding winner at the end of 40 overs. The famous tie-breaker of the T20 format has been impact in history only in a handful of IPL games, which began with a nerve-destructive match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals that ended in a tie in IPL 2009.
The last IPL Super over, however, took place in 2021 four years ago when Delhi’s capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad were closed at 159, before the DC finally won in the super over. In the IPL 2020 match in Dubai, only one tie with Bangalore, who fought on the brink with Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, saw a double super over.
SRH and DC have shown in four super overs matches, the highest among all IPL teams. While SRH is finished to lose three times, DC has won 3/4.
