BCCI Honorary Secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed the change citing security concerns due to the city’s celebration.
“The decision follows a request from the Kolkata Police Cricket Association of Bengal (Cab) Regarding the deployment of personnel across the city due to the celebration. Officials recommended that the game be taken to 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, and the request has been adjusted accordingly. The remaining program remains unchanged, “Saikia said in a media release on Friday.
With this adjustment, on April 6, there will now be only one match, in which Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Gujarat Titans at 7:30 pm. Meanwhile, 8 April will be a double-header, in the afternoon with KKR vs. LSG at the Eden Gardens, followed by Punjab Kings to Chennai Super Kings in New Chandigarh in the evening.
