New Delhi: When Jose is going to Butler, the opposition is quit to search for the answer. Scoop, reverse scoop, bridge, straight drive, cut, flick – were on every shot performance in the book as they destroyed Royal Challengers Bangalore. Titans of Gujarat created a storm for the eight -wicket win, riding on Butler’s batting masterclass.
The British scored 73 off just 39 balls at a strike rate of 187.18 and chased with a blistering. His knock, herbs with nine borders and three sixes, surprised the RCB bowlers.
After Shubman Gill’s early dismissal, Butler and Sai Reformson shared a significant 75 -run partnership. Reformson scored 49 runs in 36 balls, ensuring that GT was definitely there. Once the recommendation fell, Butler pressed the accelerator, took GT home with 13 balls and approved his authority to chase.
Earlier, RCB struggled to find a rhythm, posted 169/8 in 20 overs. His innings never happened really, as GT bowlers hit regular intervals. The initial dismissal of Virat Kohli (7) and Devdutt Padikkal (4) put them in the back leg. Phil Salat (14) and Silver Patidar (12) also failed to capitalize, causing RCB Totoring to be 42/4 within six overs.
Liam Livingstone offered some resistance, scoring 54 off 40 balls, including five fours and three sixes. Jitesh Sharma (33 out of 21) provided a quick cameo, but the GT bowlers maintained pressure. Sai Kishore (2/22) and Mohammad Sirraj (3/19) were outstanding, never allowed RCB to settle. Tim David’s faster 32 runs to 18 to 189 to RCB, but it was always going to be a difficult total for rescue.
In response, GT started carefully, Gill departed for 14. However, Butler and Reformson took control, to keep regular boundaries on track to chase. After reformson’s dismissal, Sherfen Rutherford (30* 18 runs) joined Butler, and his unbeaten 63 run stand sealed the winning win.
With this win, the GT points climbed fourth in the points table, while RCB reached third place in its campaign.
