The YouTube channels of former Pakistan cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Basit Ali were blocked on Monday in view of the Pahalgam terror attacks after “an order from the government related to national security or public order” in India.
The central government officially blocked 16 Pakistani YouTube channels allegedly to spread “stimulating and communally sensitive materials”. While Akhtar and Ali’s channels were not part of the list released by the government, they were also influenced by the order.

A YouTube message on logging in channels said, “This material is currently unavailable due to an order from the government related to national security or public order in this country.”
“On the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned restrictive and communally sensitive materials, false and misleading stories and misunderstandings against India to ban Pakistani YouTube channels, its army and security agencies said in the incident of tragic palagam terror in Jammu and Kashmir.
