New Delhi: Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin described the atmosphere of electrification when MS Dhoni went out to bat in the 19th over after Ravindra Jadeja’s dismissal during the Chennai Super Kings match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
Returning on Chennai Super Kings After a decade, Ashwin first saw the incredible reception Dhoni received from the team’s dugout – an experience he saw only from the opposition’s favor in the past.
“When MS Dhoni came out to bat in Chennai, there was so much noise and anarchy that we only forgot the game situation. MS Dhoni earned love. This was the first time I was watching the reception from the CSK dressing room; I always saw it from outside,” Ashwin shared on his YouTube channel.
At the time of Dhoni’s arrival, the match was stressed, in which the spinners of Mumbai Indians pressurized CSK.
“I was padded, I was the next batsman. I went in and asked Ruturaj how and that all because we still need 4 runs, but everyone forgot that one match was on line,” Ashwin remembered.
CSK will take RCB at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai next time on Friday.
