Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Pesar Bhuvneshwar Kumar said on Thursday that he had forgotten to use saliva in his earlier matches despite lifting the ban, saying that he had forgotten it completely. BCCI came with the ICC after a meeting of IPL captains in Mumbai before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) of this season.
Kumar said on his match against the Punjab kings, “I forgot that I can use saliva.
In March, India’s Pesar Mohammed Shami appealed to the ICC to lift the ban. Since 2011, two balls have been used per innings in ODIs. This means that the balls are not done as much as they used to do. When using saliva, add it to the prohibition, it has become very difficult to generate reverse swing. “We are trying to reverse, but you are not using saliva in the game,” Shami told reporters in Dubai.
Coming back to Friday’s competition and Chinnaswamy deck, Bhubaneswar said that he needs to study the pitch that has been unusually in favor of the bowlers in this IPL season.
“Yes, we know that Chinnaswamy is known for batting, but look at the wicket, it is not as it used to be. I do not know the reason, but yes, we will bowl or bat for the first few overs and then see how the wickets will play and then we will decide things.”
Bhubaneswar, a former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, also praised RCB leader Rajat Patidar for keeping the team together.
“The best thing is that he has calmed down. This is what he needs, especially in this format. When you lose a match, the easy thing is that we lost two matches, but that is what we live or we have lost. So, that is very well handling everything like a change in bowling. He is fantastic.”
