A deadly accident in the Hudson River on Thursday became the latest tragedy in a long line of helicopter cracks around the city of New York, with excited tourists turn to popular attraction to get a unique convenience point of Big Apple.
Elena Latona was one of the countless audiences excited to take Manhattan’s ideas from the wind. Letona was invited by her friend on the last minute chopper ride on Manhattan on 28 March, which is less than two weeks from a deadly accident.
“I was a little nervous about it because all aircraft are due to accidents,” Latona told Fox News Digital. “They gave us a little small life jacket. And I also said, if anything was going to happen, how will it save me?”

Both friends flew on a helicopter in Lower Manhattan, enjoying a beautiful view of the city.
Two weeks later, Latona saw a report of a helicopter crash in the Hudson River near Jersey City, New Jersey and not only felt that it was the same company she had flew, but it was also the same aircraft that it was.
“I thought, ‘Wow, something wrong could have been wrong’,” Latona said. “It is really sad that it did.”
As stated in the report, Latona matched the tail number – N216MH – on the aircraft below for photos taken before the ride of her helicopter. Latona said that nothing was felt during his flight, except that he “thought that the helicopter looked a bit bigger.”

A close call can be considered, Latona is again vowing to ride on the helicopter again.
“Before finding out, I left saying that I would probably come back to one, and now, not,” Latona told Fox News Digital.

New York’s helicopter tours did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s remarks request.
Qayamat Chopper took five passengers and a pilot from a downtown manhattan heliport from Manhattan Heliplaport at around 3 pm on Thursday.
About 15 minutes in the flight, the pilot gave the crew on the ground a radio, warning them that the helicopter needed to return to fuel immediately. Around 3:17 pm, officials began to receive 911 calls about a falling aircraft in Hudson River, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tish said during a news conference on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses saw the chopper rotor falling from the plane, as it fell towards the water, moving uncontrollably.
Michael Roth, CEO of New York Helicopter Tours, said, “The only thing I know that a video of the helicopter falling down was not on the main rotor blade helicopter.” Told New York Post. “I have not seen anything in my 30 years that is in business in the helicopter business. The only thing I can guess – I found no clue – it was that it was either a bird strike or the main rotor blade failed. I have no clue. I don’t know.”

The first respondent of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) arrived at the accident site within minutes to get the victims of the frigid water out of the frigid water. In 2018, five passengers were killed after the “open-door” helicopter crashed into the eastern river.

In 2011, three family members died after a chopper, when a helicopter fell into the eastern river. Two years ago, nine Italian tourists were killed in Hudson River after a visit to their sightseeing.
In light of Thursday’s accident, the legalists are calling for improvement within the airspace of New York City.
Brad Hoylman-Sigal, the state’s state senator, allegedly wants to restrict law enforcement on Manhattan, members of media and necessary transport.

Hoyleman-Sigal did not immediately respond to the request of Fox News Digital for comment.
Last year, the village Kathy Huchul signed a law required by a helipad on West 30th Street in Manhattan, which was taken from Hudson River Park, citing security concerns.
“We probably increase the disaster for only minutes,” Hoyleman-Sigle Told ABC7“It’s anxiety here. If a helicopter is in trouble in a densely populated area like Manhattan, the disaster can be very bad.”
