Charlotte Hornets Star Lamelo Ball will recall the rest of the season as he goes through two small processes to address the right ankle and wrist issues, the team said on Friday.
According to Hornets, the ball undergoes orthroscopic surgery on the effect of a right ankle and will have a process on its right wrist.
Sources told ESPN that the ball had played through pain in recent weeks before he and the team consulted the doctors on the best course of action. Team doctors and external experts concluded that the procedures would allow the ball to be cured and would be a complete, productive offsen.
The 23-year-old ball has dealt with ankle injuries in recent years, with at least 25 games missing in each of the last three seasons after playing a career-high 75 games in 2021-22.
He underwent surgery on his right ankle in 2023, and this is the second straight year when Hornets shut down the ball on 28 March. He was excluded for the rest of the 2023โ24 season to resume his right ankle after a sprain of November 2023.
The decision for the 2024โ25 season ends the ball career year 25.2 points per game scoring. He also achieved 7.4 assistance and 4.9 rebounds in 32 minutes in 47 matches this season.
According to ESPN Research, the ball is the first Hornets player to average 25 points in a season and seven assistance, and he had a franchise six game with 25 points and 10 assistance. The NBA had the second largest use rate of the ball.
The Hornets (18โ54) has a third worst record in NBA, but has accumulated significant draft capital to get six pics since October. Charlotte is the owner of all its first round pics in the future years and a total of 11 first round and 13 seconds-round pics move forward.
Charlotte witnessed success with a lineup characterized by Ball, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridge and Mark Williams, but his property was limited due to injuries.
In January, Miller missed time with injuries before undergoing season-end right wrist surgery. The bridge was approximately a month with a bone injury in his right knee, and Williams began the injured season before the possible trade for Los Angeles lases, nixed on a unsuccessful physical.
