Pesar Ishant Sharma of Gujarat Titans (GT) was slapped with 25 percent fine and submitted a demerit point to dissolve the Indian Premier League’s code of conduct during the IPL 2025 win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday. A statement from the IPL posted on its website stated that Ishant was found in a violation of Article 2.2, but did not specify what he had done to dissolve it.
Article 2.2 is related to cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or misuse of fixtures and fittings during a match. The statement also stated that “for the level 1 violations of the code of conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding.”
Ishant later accepted Level 1 for being guilty of the crime of Level 1 and the match referee Javagal Srinath’s approval.
Ishant has so far received a disappointing IPL 2025, claiming only one wicket in three matches. He has become expensive, scoring 107 runs in eight overs in three matches. On Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Titans Pesar of Gujarat was killed for 53 runs in four wicket -free overs. He then made way for Sherfen Rutherford.

While Ishant struggled in Hyderabad, his partner Pesar Mohammed Shami ended the night with his best figures in the IPL: taken four wickets for just 17 runs.
Thanks to Shami’s heroes with the ball, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. This was Hyderabad’s fourth defeat in five IPL 2025 Games, a sequence of results that sees the SRH team Plmet under the IPL 2025 standing. On the other hand, for Gujarat, this was his third win after starting the season with defeat against Punjab Kings.
