The party, which supports gradual freedom from Denmark, exceeded its seats in 31-Seat ITSITUTUT Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Nalrek Party, a pro -freedom -supporting freedom, reduced its seats to eight, while the ruling coalition suffered heavy losses.
“People want change,” said Democratit leader Jens-Frederick Nielsen. “We don’t want freedom tomorrow; we want to build a good foundation.”
Freedom became a major electoral issue after Trump repeatedly claimed that Greenland was important for American national security and would eventually join the United States.
The island, with a three -fold of Texas -shaped but only 57,000 inhabitants, includes rich deposits of rare earth minerals used in electric vehicles and missile systems.
Despite the benefits of Nalerek, analysts believe that Democrats will form a wide alliance with one or both outgoing ruling parties, Inute Atakatigit and SIMT.
