The German Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Germany has temporarily closed its embassy due to temporary increasing tension in Juba, the capital of the South Sudan, which has reached the brink of the East African country to the brink of civil war.

The German Foreign Ministry wrote on X, “After years of delicate peace, South Sudan is once again on the verge of civil war.”

“President Keer and Vice President Machchar are immersing the country in a spiral of violence. It is his responsibility to end this insensitive violence and finally implement the peace agreement.”
Nicholas Hasom, head of the Piskipping head of South Sudan, has also said that he is concerned that the country is “on the verge of relay in the civil war”.
