Islamabad: Mirco Stanzel, the coach of the German National Junior Team received Pakistan as one of the fiery rivals in the hockey sector, the current juniors were made highly influential in reversal.
talking to Live news During the Iftar dinner on Wednesday, at the residence of German Ambassador Alfred Granas, Stanzel said he was proud to be part of the first German or any foreign national team to visit Pakistan in 21 years.
“Since we are trendsters, our tour in Pakistan is more than just one bilateral series. Playing hockey is just one side of our journey, our visit for Pakistan will help other countries to resume the country’s tour. Such a journey will also help in promoting cultural and sports relations between the two countries.
Stanzel has a large value for Pakistan hockey traditions, ensuring that they are technically sound. “Even this junior team against which we have played three Tests so far, is very good. They are extraordinary in retaliation and are well aware of how to make the best of their abilities, ”he said.
The German world junior champions are defending – the title he won in Malaysia four years ago.

Back to the hockey structure in Germany, Stanzel said there are 400 hockey clubs where children start playing hockey from the age of six to eight years. “We have found a systematic system to promote and learn hockey in Germany. Earlier, Germany’s Junior Hockey Team held an intensive practice session at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad, focusing on refining its skills and finalizing their upcoming match preparations.
During the session, German players worked on fitness drills, passing and round-scoring exercises, while the coaching staff focused on the strategic plan. Hockey enthusiasts and local players were also present at the stadium, praising the skills and technology of the German team.
The German team’s visit to Pakistan is seen as a positive step for the development of hockey in the country, which gives local players an opportunity to witness and learn from international level hockey.
The last match of the series will be played at 3 pm on Thursday at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, Islamabad.
