Despite the traditional Marwari background of his family, Bajaj’s upbringing provoked him the values of Gandhia that would later affect his trade practices. Under his leadership, Bajaj Group and Bajaj Auto especially reached new heights. Bajaj Auto secured her place as the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The book gives a details of the Pivatal moments, such as the Bajaj Scooter’s rebranding ended after the company’s partnership with Pijio. Bajaj decided to use the family name for the company’s vehicles, a step that proved to be successful for the brand’s strong reputation and a ten -year waiting list for their scooters.
Bajaj Chetak, named after Maharana Pratap Singh’s famous ladder, became a prestigious symbol of middle class India. Its strength and reliability made it a common view on Indian roads. The owner of Bajaj Chetak was a status symbol, often sought as dowry and even a black market was given fuel due to high demand.
However, despite the company’s commitment, rising competition and changing market trends for the company’s core design, it eventually led to its dissection in 2005. Bajaj admits that the company failed to identify the changes towards motorcycles in the late 1990s, which gives them a share in the market.
Despite this shock, Bajaj Auto abolished 2021 with a market capitalization of Rs 1,00,670.76 crore ($ 13.6 billion). In 2019, the company revived Chetak as an electric scooter, showing the ability to adapt and innovate.
