A French Parliament Member of Parliament is demanding that the US returns the Statue of Liberty to France, which gifted it to Americans in the 1880s.
Central-left politician Rafael Glaxman commented at a recent conference of his political party, Place Public.
He said, “We are going to tell the Americans who have chosen the Americans who have taken out the researchers to demand scientific freedom: ‘Give us back to Statue of Liberty,” he told supporters according to a French newspaper Le Monde.
He said, “We gave it as a gift, but obviously you hate it. So, it would be fine here at home,” he said.

France presented a Statue to the US on July 4, 1884, before the later centers of the declaration of independence were unveiled by the then President Grover Cleveland in New York City in New York City, on 28 October 1886 in New York City.
The idol was designed by the French sculptor Augustay Bartoldi and weighs about 450,000 pounds and is 305 feet long.
A very small copy of the statue is displayed on the Scene River in Paris on Elly Des Signs. The Lady Liberty replica was gifted to France in France in 1889 to start 100 years since the French revolution.

In its war against Russia, Ukraine’s staunch supporter glucusman has stopped President Donald Trump to draw support for the country in his fight against Moscow invasion from February 2022.
He criticized Trump for cutting federal funds to American colleges and research institutes, a step that led to an initiative of a French government, which aims to bring some of them to France.

“The other thing we are going to say to the Americans is this: If you want to set your best researchers on fire, if you want to fire all those who have made your country the leading power of the world, through their tastes for their freedom and innovation, and research, then we are going to welcome your country,” Glucksmann said.
Glucksmann also criticized the right -wing members of the French Parliament to be a “fan club” for Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, a senior advisor to Trump, who leads the government’s efficiency department.
