Melbourne: Former Australia Test batter and TV commentator Michael Slater was sentenced to four years in jail on Tuesday after being convicted for domestic violence allegations, but will be freed after serving over a year in custody.
A Registrar of the Maruchidor District Court said Slater’s jail sentence was partially suspended.
Slater was refused to grant bail in court a year earlier after being sent to police custody and between December 5, 2023 and 12 April 2024, several domestic violence crimes were accused of several domestic violence on the Sunshine coast in the state of Queensland.
