According to the Federal Aviation Administration, an American Airlines flight tied to India was shifted to Rome on Sunday due to “security issues”.

The New Delhi bound flight was removed after the crew members reported the security issue, although the FAA’s statement did not specify what the issue was.
Law enforcement inspected the aircraft and approved to re -submit the aircraft, the American Airlines said in a statement to the USA Today. The airline said the issue was determined to be non-honest, but the protocol of Indira Gandhi International Airport needed an inspection.
Associated Press reported that two fighter jets flew at the airport before the landing and after the aircraft landed there were fire trucks on Termac.

“Safety and security are our top priorities and we thank our customers for their understanding,” American Airlines said in the statement.
The USA Today Leonardo da Vinci reached the International Airport and Indian Aviation Officers, but did not get immediate response.
