A day after Akash Chopra slammed a fan to distort his comment, former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel was the latest victim of online misinformation. On Sunday, Patel faced X to refute a false dialect in X.

A verified X user posted an image of Patel, which is part of Gujarat Titans Along with Rohit Sharma, Assistant Staff claimed that Patel had said during a chat with the commentator Harsh bhogle,
“Harsha Bhogle: Mi is remembering Bumrah.
Parthiv Patel – Not Bumrah, Mumbai Indians are remembering Captain Rohit Sharma. (Smiling) ”
Patel did not waste any time to shut down the claim, clearly replied, “I never said that.”
In a separate post, Patil wrote sarcastically: “Come friends. I have got some great collab and content, if you want impression. Why lie about me?”
A day earlier, a fan edited Chopra’s commentary clip and misleading it to bat with MS Dhoni’s scenes. The original comment was about a six Dhoni hit, but the video manipulated in the video of Chopra’s words incorrectly vested which was about Dhoni’s arrival.
Splitting the wrong bayani, Chopra wrote on X: “Six Marne’s comment on the arrival of the scene, the dors … Views/engagement big. God bless you, Kushagra.”
These incidents highlight the growing problem of misinformation in sports media, where fake content spreads rapidly, forcing cricketers and analysts to empty the air time.
