Although the identity of the pilot has not yet been released by the authorities, NTSB President Jennifer Homendi said during the news conference that the agency had pilot logbooks and confirmed that he had conducted a commercial pilot certificate with rotcraft and instrument ratings.
“Pilot reported 450 hours of total flight experience on its most recent therapy, which was released on September 20, 2024,” said Homendi. “By March 29, 2025, the pilot had deposited about 788 hours a total time.”

NTSB is still calculating the time of pilot flight in the Bell helicopter as Pilot first flew from Robinson 44, according to Hamendi.
NYPD divers are still searching for pieces of aircraft, including the main rotor, tail rotor, main transmission, roof structure and tail structure.
However, Hamendi said that the witness report had already provided assistance to the investigators in the preliminary investigation of the agency.

Homendi said that shortly before the NTSB accident, it was aware of “reports” of the “big flock of birds” in the area.

NTSB is telling the public to present photos, videos and testimony “if something hit (they) separated them as” or gave them a “break”.
