Human rights activists protest outside the European Parliament, which is ahead by one vote by MPs on the Treaty of the European Union on Brasels, Belgium, Relationship and Migration on Migration. ,

The European Union on Wednesday published a list of seven countries, which it considers “safe”, which is in a dialect for citizens of nations to speed up migrant returns by making it difficult to claim asylum in the block.

The European Commission said that it was proposed to designate Kosovo, Bangladesh, Columbia, Egypt, India, Morocco and Tunisia as “safe countries of origin”.

This move criticized by rights groups, is ready to allow the European Union governments to process shelter applications filed by citizens of those countries at a rapid pace – introducing an estimate that such claims lack ability.

The European Union Commissioner for the European Union’s migration, Magnus Brunger said, “Many member states are facing an important backlog of asylum applications, so whatever we can do now is required to support fast asylum decisions.”

Brussels have pressured to climb on irregular arrival and provide exile, following the public opinion on the migration, which has promoted harsh-right electoral gains in many countries.

On Wednesday, the Commission said that the European Union candidates will also fulfill the criteria to be nominated as safe countries.

But it also placed exceptions, when they fall prey to a conflict – something that, for example, excludes Ukraine.

The European Union had already presented a uniform list in 2015, but the plan was abandoned due to warm debate whether to include Turkey or not, there was another candidate for membership.

The Commission said that the list published on Wednesday could be extended or reviewed over time and they were designed by looking at the nations from which a significant number of applicants currently come.

Many member states already nominate countries that they “secure” for asylum – France’s list, for example, Mongolia, Serbia and Cape Verde.

The purpose of the European Union’s effort is to harmonize the rules and ensure that all members have the same base line.

State can individually add countries to the European Union list, but cannot decrease it.

The Commission said that the cases of refuge would still have to investigate personally, ensuring that the existing security measures have been kept in place and the shelters have not been dismissed outright.

The scheme is to be approved by the European Parliament and Member States, before it can be implemented.

But it has already come under fire from human rights groups.

Euromede Rights, a Umbrella Group, stated that some countries depicted in the European Union list suffer from “misuse and limited protection of the rights documented for both their own citizens and migrants”.

“It is misleading to label them ‘safe’ – and dangerous”, it is written on X.

According to the European Union’s border agency Frontax, the irregular border crossing found in the European Union in 2023 after the peak of about 10 years had increased from 38% to 239,000 last year.

But under the leadership of Hawks, including Italy, Denmark and Netherlands, European Union leaders called for immediate new law to increase the return and increase the pace for the Commission to increase the pace and compete irregular migrations for the Commission.

Currently, according to European Union data, less than 20% of people have been ordered to leave blocks.

Last month, the Commission unveiled a planned reform of the 27-Nation BLOC withdrawal system, which opened the way for the member states to set up a migrant return center outside the European Union.

Italian internal minister, Matteo Piantedosi on Wednesday saw the latest step of the European Union as “a success for the Italian government”.
