A few days after Jose Butler’s successor as the England men’s white-ball cricket captain, Harry Brook swear that he would leave all the franchise league commitments for the near future.
Last November, the Mega Auction was signed up by Delhi Capital for the IPL 2025 season for the IPL 2025 season, which was taken out of the T20 Extra Vavaganza after exiting England’s Champions Trophy. Brooke, who had taken out of last year’s IPL due to his grandmother’s death, said he wanted to focus on his upcoming international commitments with England. The new BCCI rule also meant that Brook was banned from entering the IPL by 2027.
Brooke told the BBC, “England is the way for me and franchise cricket can take one step back for a while.”
“I enjoy playing cricket for England, so to lose a little money here and there – I will take any day to play for England.”
Brooke said he would try to play every series for England, while “here and there may have some opportunities to take a little break”.
England will bow to the two high-bed Test series this year, first at home against India in mid-June and later in Australia. Brooke will also be focused on England’s preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in early 2026.
Brooke said, “I want to play every game, but if I need a week off and this is the best thing for my game, I am sure I will be allowed a week off holiday.”
