22 -year -old Britain Emma Redukanu said she “really feels dizzy” during the loss of her narrow quarterfinal to World No. 4 Jessica Pegula at the Miami Open on Wednesday.
Despite the need for medical treatment, Redukanu level the match before winning the US Pegula 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6–2.
“I was really dizzy,” Redukanu told Tennisone.
“I was feeling unconscious. It was very moist, and we were a long wait, so perhaps it was just an accumulation. (There were) just with physical points -with long rallies and heavy conditions. I don’t know how I re -gathered in that second set, but in the third I definitely struggled a little bit.”
While she was feeling the brunt of the circumstances, World No. 60 played some of her best tennis since becoming a teenage grand slam champion at the 2021 US Open.

In Miami, top -20 opponents Emma Navaro and Amanda Anisimova had an eye -catching victory. She will also take great satisfaction from knowing that she will return to the top 50 of the WTA rankings next week.
