Archaeologists, a former fish market -digging archaeologist in Barcelona, Northeast Spain, have discovered a ship’s debris that can drown about 500 years ago.
The team came beyond the ruined stern of a large vessel that could have drowned in the 15th or 16th century.
A large piece of boat, 10 meters long and three meters wide and over 30 curved wooden ribs, found in a good position at a depth of five meters above sea level.
“This is very important because it is uncommon to find archaeological remains under water and when we study on the nail and wood, etc., more information will be known,” Santiago Palasios Neto said, the 30 -year -old, the director of the Archaeological Team told Reuters.
“What we have found is a piece of a ship, which is likely to manufacture the Mediterranean-style, but from the Atlantic effects from the basket country or gallicia.”
The wood of the vessel was preserved by moist sand that covered it. The team should now ensure that the debris is preserved by drying, so it will have to be given water day and night.
