Chennai Super Kings struggled at the top with their initial combination, former India player Chris Srikanth on Saturday advocated the inclusion of Devon Conway in place of Jamie overton for his next match against Delhi Capital.
After starting its campaign with a win over Mumbai Indians, CSK has continued to give trouble to the next two matches against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals with its top order. So far in three matches, CSK is not coming in 3 with Ruturaj Gikwad with Rachin Ravindra and Rahul Tripathi. For tripathy, the torny struggled to make the form and Rachin a warm and cold, the continuous omission of the Conway has increased the eyebrows.
There are also calls for CSK to release R Ashwin and bring it to the seamor like Anshul Kamboj that will strengthen their new ball options.
And speaking on his YouTube channel Cheeky Cheeka, Srikkanth says that Conway should come in XI. “Conway has to come in place of Jamie Overton and also to bring to XI in free Kamboj. Regarding Ashwin, do not leave him, but stop him from bowling in powerplay. He can be effective between 7-18th, with Jadeja and Noor Ahmed, they can easily slip into 10 overs.
One of the major criticism of CSK is that they do not give opportunity to unaccounted players like Indians in Mumbai. This season, his batting ranks have a high-rated Andre Siddharth that is heating the bench, and Srikanth said that the 18-year-old should be used as an influence player. Srikanth said, “I play Shivam Dubey in XI and bring it to Andre Siddha as an influence player. Even Mukhesh Chaudhary is a good option, he has bowled well for CSK in the past.”
