Short: The discord will enter the next stage of its journey under the new leadership. Co-founder and CEO Jason Citron recently shared the news with employees in a memorandum, which was also made public on the company’s blog.
The disorders were conceived by Citron and Stanislav Vishnevsky, who wanted to make something for a virtual living room, where friends could chat with each other about the games they like. In fact, the final imaginary XI was a major inspiration for the chat service that is now used by hundreds of crore people every month.
The service went live in May 2015. Its focus is still on gamers, but others have adopted discord for things like workplace chat and also to discuss various hobbies or interests.

In March 2024, Discord revealed that it had more than 200 million monthly active users and was planning an IPO in the future in future. This is still not done, and it is interesting that it will not come to fruit under the Citron watch.
Citron said the building discord has been one of the most rewarding experiences of his life, saying that he is deeply grateful to many friendships, challenges and achievements on the way. Looking at what will be needed from the CEO of the discord in the coming years, Citron said that it is “time for him to keep himself out of the job.”
