Denmark said about Greenland on Friday in the “tone” of the Trump administration, “It’s not how you talk to your close colleagues.”

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Loke Rasmusen released the message in a recorded video when Vice President JD Vance visited an American military base in Greenland, where the Vice President criticized Denmark.

“I have a message for our American friends and all others who are listening,” Rasmusen said. “A lot is being said these days. Many allegations and many allegations have been made. And of course we are open for criticism. But I should be completely honest: we don’t appreciate the tone in which it is being distributed. It’s not how you talk to your close colleagues. And I still consider Denmark and United States.”

The Trump administration has argued that Denmark failed to protect Greenland from Russian and Chinese aggression, Vance told American troops at the US Pituitary Space Base in North -West Greenland that “Denmark has not done good job in keeping Greenland safe.”

“Our message for Denmark is very simple: you have not done a good job by the people of Greenland,” Vance said. “You have weakened the people of Greenland, and you have weakened the safety architecture of this incredible, beautiful landmas filled with incredible people. It has to be changed.”

Trump has made a mission to handle Greenland from Denmark in his second administration.

Rasmusen said that “we respect the need for” more military appearance for the US in Greenland “, and believe that” too much “can be done within the current structure of the 1951 defense agreement with the US

The Foreign Minister said, “We use it and do us together.”

The US accused Greenlanders of considering Greenlands as ‘second class citizens’ during the Vance visit for the Arctic Base.

Rasmusen said that Vance said that both Denmark and America have done very little in Arctic. In his message, Rasmusen said that the two countries are “harvesting peace dividends” and working on the notion that the Arctic should be “a low changing area”.

“But that time is over,” he said. “Status Quo is not an option. And that’s why we have also stepped.”

Rasmusen expanded how Copenhagen had invested one billion dollars in Arctic Security a few weeks ago to provide more drones, ships and personnel in the region.

The Foreign Minister also mentioned that Greenland is a part of NATO and welcomed all colleagues to play “a big role in Arctic”, although Copenhagen made a step to do his share.

“We will shoulder our share of responsibility. No one should doubt,” Rasmusen said.

Fox News Digital’s Calin McFall and Morgan Philips contributed to the report.
