No longer to leave: After more than nine months at the International Space Station, two astronauts are close to the return home after the launch of a crew Swap Mission on Friday.
A Falcon 9 rocket with a crew dragon exploded on its top from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 7:03 pm (2303 GMT), carrying a four -member team for the orbital outpost.
“We celebrate countless individuals from all over the world who have made this journey possible,” said Astronaut Nicole Aarce, the nominated pilot of Crew -10 mission just before the launch.
But the real focus is what their arrival enables: NASA pair for long to overtake Buch Wilmor and Sun. Williams’ ISS.
After the Boeing Starlineer spacecraft, they have boarded two former US Navy pilots in the Orbital Lab, when they were testing for their first crew, they faced propulsion issues and were disqualified to return to Earth.
Instead, the Starlineer returned empty, without experiencing further major issues-and what the day-long roundtrip for Wilmore was meant and Williams has now spread for the last nine months.
This is much longer than the standard ISS rotation for around six months astronauts.

NASA pair Buch Wilmore and Sun. Williams have boarded the ISS since June, after the Boeing Starlineer spacecraft they were testing its first crew flight developed propulsion issues and were considered unfit for flying back.
But it is much lower compared to the 371 -day American space records set by NASA astronaut Frank Rubio in 2023, or the world records conducted by the Russian Cosmonot Valerie Polycov, who spent 437 consecutive days on the MIR Space Station.
Nevertheless, their unpredictable nature of their long -term stay away from their families – they had to get additional clothes and personal care items as they did not pack enough – raising interest and sympathy.
‘Perhaps they love each other’
The beginning that started as a technical failure, it has also become spiral in a political flashpoint, leading President Donald Trump and his close advisor, Elon Musk -SpaceX -has repeatedly suggested that the former President Joe Biden Joe Biden “left out” intentionally rejected a plan to bring them back.
The allegation caused an uproar in the space community, especially since Musk did not provide any nuances.
Duo’s return plan has since been unchanged, since he was re-handed over to SpaceX’s crew-9, which reached another dragon in September, with only two crew members moved to the members of the general four-to make room for –lamore and Williams instead of a normal four.
When Danish Astronaut Andreas Mogenseen indicated it on X, Musk used to get out of it and use a slur for mentally disabled people.

The arrival of crew -10 mission will allow Wilmore and Williams to leave the ISS.
Some retired astronauts fled to protect Mogensen – while Wilmore looked back at Musk, saying that his comment would have been “factual”, although he admitted that he was not private for any details.
Meanwhile, Trump has attracted attention to his bizarre comments about the situation, referring to Williams, a former naval captain, “The Woman with the Wild Hair” and guessing the individual dynamic between the two.
During the recent White House press conference, he said, “They have been left there -I hope they like each other, perhaps they love each other, I don’t know.”
Crew -10 Spaceship Dock -Cruce -9 team can start preparing for departure at 11:30 pm and not soon compared to 19 March, from Florida coast.
Along with Wilmore and Williams, NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian Cosmonot Alexandra Gorbunov will also board the Returning Dragon capsules.
Despite the Space Ukraine struggle remains a region of collaboration between the United States and Russia, Cosmonots are doing the same through SpaceX crew dragons and astronauts launched from Kazakhstan to Kazakhstan.
The Crew -10 team consists of NASA astronaut Anne McClen and Nicole Aars, Japan’s Takua Onishi and Russia’s Kiril Peskov. During its mission, the new crew will conduct a series of scientific experiments, including flammability testing for future spacecraft design and research on the effects of space on the human body.
