Former Iowa Forward Owen Freeman, 2023-24 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, has signed with Create.
6 -Foot -10 Freeman made 6.7 rebounds in average 16.7 points and 19, which starts this season for Hawkis before the last two months after finger surgery. He shot 63.8% from the ground and blocked 35 shots. Freeman has a two -year eligibility.
“He is a proven scorer at a high major level and is scratching the surface only in terms of his ability,” said Greg McDermot, coach of Create. “Our crime will allow his versatility to be on full performance. We can’t wait to keep him in bluejay uniform.”
Blues also achieved a transfer from Nick Graves, a junior guard, who scored 17.5 points per game this season with Charlotte.
In addition, on Friday, Frank Mitchell, former Minnesota, signed with St. Bonvancher. Mitchell took an average of 4.9 points and 4.7 rebound per game for Golden Goffeers this season. He ended with Minnesota with two double-dabbles in his last three matches.
Prior to Minnesota, Mitchell spent a year in Canisius, where he took an average of 12.1 points and an average of 11.6 rebounds per game. He started his college career at Hamber College, Toronto, where he helped lead the Hawks at the 2022 CCAA National Championship and the 2022 OCAA Provincial Championship. He sat out of the 2022-23 season under NCAA transfer rules.
