Circular in the smart ring segment is a relatively small player, which is currently due to the choice of OURA, Samsung and RingConn. Nevertheless, after a well-good start, the company’s second-Gy-Gm Smart Ring is setting some high benchmarks.
Circular Ring 2, which recently exceeded its $ 1 million crowdfunding target, has received support for blood pressure sensing. This feature will be enabled through the OTA updates later this year. In 2026, the company will also enable sensor-powered blood glucose trend analysis for its smart ring
How does blood pressure sensing work on a ring?
“Unlike other wearbals, which perfectly rely on the PPG sensor, the circular has combined the ECG and PPG technology to enable spot blood pressure measurements, making it the first smart ring to achieve this level of accuracy,” the company says.
Circular says that the onboard sensor array measures Pulse Transit Time (PTT) to assess blood pressure. Users can take permanent measurements between 30 seconds for a few minutes, so that it can be investigated how their activity pattern affects blood pressure levels.
Now, it feels great to be almost true that a smart ring can measure blood pressure, but smartwatches from veterans like Apple and Samsung are not basically able to find it originally.
The built -in technology, however, is ready. It has been tested in clinical settings, and has already been commercialized. Earlier this year, Novosound revealed a novel ultrasound blood pressure monitoring system, claiming that it was ready for watches and smart rings.
An attitude valid by science

The PTT-based approach is supported as a non-invasive phlegm-less technique to measure blood pressure by scientific research. This is the same as a research paper presented at the 30th annual International Conference of IEEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society:
“It has been reported that the interval between the peak of R-Wave in Pulse Transit Time (PTT), Electrocardiogram (ECG) and fingertip photoplethysmogram (PPG) is related to arterial rigidity, and can be used to estimate systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP).
This approach may not automatically be 100% accurate, but when the projections of heart rate and blood pressure are included in the measurement process, the error margin “significantly” is reduced. Another paper published in the Hypertension Research Journal discusses the efficacy of this PTT method for blood pressure evaluation.
Morning of a new era for smart rings

Circular Ring 2 Smart Ring Segment is having a lot of innovation powerhouse. Armed with an ECG, PPG and a temperature sensor, it can measure everything from heart rate and blood oxygen saturation level to ECG activity and heart rate variation.
The first FDA-Callier to provide ECG measurement facility has been tied to be a smart ring, it has also received regulatory withdrawal to detect AFIB signals, which is a serious heart condition. Apple created waves when detecting AFIB landed on her smartwatch.
Circular Ring 2 is currently available through the kickstarter, priced at $ 239 for initial backers. The regular sticker price for this titanium-made smartwatch is $ 549. It is on the high side, but a remarkable advantage is that it does not contain any membership model, and all features are available directly out of the box.
