Beijing: Chinese, Russian and Iranian diplomats met on Friday to negotiate Tehran’s nuclear program, said the state media of Beijing.
“The three parties exchanged ideas on Iran nuclear issues and other issues of general concern,” Chinese state broadcasters CCTV Said.
The state media did not share any other details of the talks, which was attended by China’s Vice Foreign Minister Ma Jhaoxu, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Raibakov and Irani Deputy Foreign Minister Kazam Gharibabadi.
The United States withdrew from a historic Iran deal, which during the first term of President Donald Trump, put a curb on Tehran’s nuclear program in exchange for restrictions.
Tehran followed the 2015 deal for a year after Washington’s return, but then began to bring back his commitments.
Efforts to revive the treaty have been falter since.
Beijing has stated that the purpose of the dialogue would be “to strengthen communication and coordination, resume dialogue and conversation in early times”.
