Chelsea won the Women’s Super League (WSL) title with a 1–0 win against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Chelsea was planning to lift the title against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, but Arsenal was brought forward to his title ceremony after Aston Villa lost 5–2, which means that only one draw will be sufficient on Wednesday.
Blues won the WSL in their last five campaigns under Emma Hayes and her successor, Sonia Bomstore, only joined the domination of Chelsea.
“It looks great (to win the league). I told some players and employees after the game that it seems a bit untrue because we were probably not expecting to achieve tonight,” the bummester said at the post -match news conference. “I was not expecting a point against Aston Villa from Arsenal.”
WSL has gone in the last day in the last three sessions, yet Bompastor has earned its first English domestic title with the game. The remaining two matches get unbeaten in the win league and receive the WSL points record (58), setting herself in 2022-23.
“I heard some noise about the fact that it is very easy for Chelsea. It’s not easy,” Bampstore said. “When you look at our results, to be able to defeat the city twice (Manchester) in the league, twice (against) Arsenal and twice (against Manchester) United, I don’t know what people think. It’s incredible.”
Bampstore admitted that after the second goal of Eston Villa in his victory over Arsenal, he stopped watching the game. And, although he came to know about the result from the members of the employees, he did not tell his players in an attempt to focus their attention.
“I didn’t mention anything for my players before the game,” she said. “Some of them were probably aware that the arsenal was lost, but I did not want to mention anything because for me, coming here, I wanted to win the game and did not want to tell them that information because perhaps they would be more comfortable with the situation.”
Bampstore, who joined Chelsea from French veteran Lyon in summer, secured Chelsea’s first piece with a 2–1 win over Manchester City in the league cup final before giving the first piece of Chelsea in his debut in England to the West London Club’s eighth WSL Trophy.
“I never let my players breathe. I am always insisting on them to do more,” Bomstore said. “In the last few weeks, it was difficult for him because I was the one who was always insisting for more and he was like,” Sonia, we already achieved something. ” But this is never enough.
“When you want to be one of the best teams, you want this mindset.”
Chelsea has a chance to complete her second domestic traables on 18 May when she faces United in the FA Cup final at the Wambley Stadium.
He missed out on winning a historic quadruple after Spanish veteran Barcelona exiting the Champions League in the semi -finals in the last weekend.
“Three days after the loss of the Champions League semi -finals, to be able to play a distant game and play, I think you must really be professional, but to be mentally really strong to be strong, it’s really strong,” said the bummester.
“I think some people probably think because you are Chelsey, it is very easy to do, but it is not. I already said that it is mentally important that something is really important for teams and great teams when you are low in the season.”
Meanwhile, the disadvantage of United stops the difference for Manchester City in fourth place as the pair still struggling for a place in the top three, with arsenal that is a point ahead.
