Fox 2 , February is the American Heart Month, which means that if you are not in a while, it is time to check your cardiovascular health.
It is also important to know that the heart arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat where we are paying attention to seeking symptoms.
Why should you care:
A common comfort for most adults is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. But a heart arrhythmia occurs when the heart becomes very fast or very slow – or the pattern of heartbeat becomes inconsistent.
It can feel like a fluttering, fast or racing. And while there are many common types, it can be a sign of something worse. But what is the reason for your heart to get out of the rhythm?
Dr. Ali Jesheri is a cardiac electrophysiology for Trinity Health Michigan Heart.
“This can occur for many reasons, some of them may be congenital in nature,” Jejeri said. “We sometimes see them that someone has done heart surgery -especially at a young age. Sometimes it can be a degenerative disease of the heart over time.”
How can you check your heart rhythm? Check your pulse in the wrist or neck. You are looking for your heartbeat rate and rhythm.
You do this by counting the number of beats in 15 seconds, then four to several. This is your heart rate.
If you want to get your extreme heart rate while exercising, then you take number 220 and you reduce your age.
You can also keep track by wearing a smartwatch. You should measure your heartbeat after working and consuming caffeine.
You should not even read after sitting or standing for a long time.
