Chaitra Navratri 2025: Date
- Ashtami will be celebrated on 5 April (Saturday) on the eighth day of Navratri. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Mahagauri.
- On the other hand, Navami will be seen on 6 April (Sunday). Devotee Kanya Pujan, also known as Kumari Puja, Kumarika Puja and Kanjak Puja, to bring good luck, wealth and happiness in his life.
Chaitra Navratri 2025: Shub Murat
According to the Drink Panchang, Ashwin Shukla Ashtami Tithi begins on April 4 at 8:12 pm and ends at 7:26 pm on 5 April. Navami Tithi begins at 7:26 on April 5 and ends on 6 April at 7:22 pm.

Kanya Puja 2024: Ritual
Kanya Puja is a Hindu ritual that respects the nine forms of Goddess Durga during the Navratri festival. This is done on the eighth or ninth day of Navratri.
Nine young girls known as Kanjak are also worshiped between the ages of 2 and 10 years. Young girls represent various forms of Maa Durga, including Kumarika, Trimurti, Kalyani, Rohini, Kali, Chadika, Shambhavi, Durga, Bhadra or Subhadra.

- Invite nine young girls (between the ages of 2 and 10) to your home.
- Then, wash the girls’ feet with water, wipe them, and place them on a chair.
- Now, tie the holy thread, known as Kalwa or Molie, around their wrist, while vermilion is also applied to their forehead.
- Next, serve young girls a variety of dishes like poor, gram, ghee pudding, coconut, sweets and kheer.
- Once they eat, they provide new clothes, bangles and study materials such as money or gifts.
- Finally, touch their feet and seek blessings.
