As the world gives his final respect to Pope Francis, everywhere, men and women, including a new generation loyalty, wait for the cardinal college and to choose a new pope.
A conclave organized by Camelango, currently Cardinal Kevin Farel, begins 15 to 20 days after the Pope’s death.
“Anything can happen,” in the Catholic intellectual traditions at the University of Ohio, Associate Professor and Goodly Chairman Tim Gabrielly told Fox News Digital.

Pope Francis, 266th Pontiff, who was born of George Mario Bergoglio, died on 21 April, 2025 as a bishop of Rome 12 years later.
“We don’t really have an idea,” he said about the successor of Pope Francis. “I think anyone who says is otherwise possible.”
Among the Church leaders, the candidates floated as the candidates, the Italian Cardinal Pitro Paroline, Filipino Cardinal Louis Antonio Tagle, Hungarian Cardinal Peter Edo and American Cardinal Raymond Burke.
“It is helpful in remembering that cardinals are going to be the electric, conclave means that the key, the lock away … away from the media and the effects,” Gabrielie said.

“We have found a group of people who play an important role in the church worldwide, and they are coming together, spending time together, and this group of cardinals has not spent much time together,” said Gabrly.
Pope Francis made more than 100 cardinals, including people from developing countries.
“Christ is to be found on the margin,” said Gabrielly.
During a conclave, cardinals vote through a secret voting. A two-thirds majority are required for the election. After each round of submission, ballot papers are read loudly and then burnt. The ash is used to inform audiences around the world and informed the audience of the election position in St. Peter Square.

Black smoke from Sistin Chappell in the Vatican indicates that a new round of voting is going to happen. White Smoke has selected a new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
The secret process, which takes a long time as required, is quite different from the US President, local and even the Mayor elections. However, the unique election process prevents people from comparing the most “papabiles” cardinals and American political parties -Rip -publicans and Democrats.
“This is very attractive to map people in our political categories,” Gabrielie said. “They don’t just work very well in the church. There are different empire and priorities.”
“This is a very, very different process,” he said.
The college of Cardinals chose Pope Francis in 2013 when he was 76 years old. At that time, the former Pontiff was not considered one of the top cardinal claimants.
Some Catholics considered the former Church leader as “non-traditional” and often criticized his sometimes progressive approach to the world leadership.

During his 12-year-old sinner, Pope Francis took affinity for the expansion of equality in the Catholic Church, which included the paths for divorced Catholics and blessed for similar-sex couples.
“My reading is that they had some special processes and structures that were very interested in setting them in motion, such as recent working on humidation,” Gabrielie said.
Pope Francis also interacted around climate change. His emphasis on environmental protection suits him with Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II.
“He was like lifting that speed,” said Gabrielly. “There is really a thread you are seeing there.”

Currently, 252 are living cardinals. However, only top members of the church under the age of 80 are eligible to vote. A maximum of 120 cardinal voters create voting colleges.
The limit was determined by Pope John Paul VI in 1975.
“I think it is possible that someone could be seen close to Pope Francis,” Gabrielie said about the next Pope. “I think it is possible for someone to be chosen, which has a separate set of preferences than the Pope Francis.”
