When it is decided to be my first broadway play in a show, I could be selected from any famous presentations that are currently out of it. The Lion King, Hamilton, And Sweeny Tod All were clear options. But I am not a very big fan of most music, different from Disney, and Disney shows that playing on Broadway seems to think that she lasts much longer than her 80 -minute source material and comes with a heavy price, even for cheap seats.
Finally, the horror fan inside me won because I chose a new drama Gray -house Which was still in preview during the week that I had planned my visit to New York City. And it turned out to be a perfect choice for a non-music scary fan, who wanted to cross the broadway show from his bucket list. My review of Levi Holowe below is Gray -house,
Gray -house plot summary
Conspiracy Gray -house It is difficult to give away because it is a story that questions the audience from the beginning and the whole drama gradually comes out. This is not enough that the end is a shocking turn because it is the whole point of the story and to overcome it you will take it away from the experience of watching it to see it.
What I would say that the scene opens with a mother, Rale, which was played by the famous Laurie Metcase, and her five children were a dozen in front of the TV. They live in a dilapidated but clean cabin in the middle of the forest. As the rale sleeps, children display some strange behavior, especially a little girl who continuously moves above and down the stairs of the basement that emit a terrible glow from the open door.
During the night, a couple, Max (Tatiana Maslni) and Henry (Paul Sparks), were calling for help in the house, hitting a deer on the snowy road. Henry is injured, and when Max applies first aid, they have met the children: Marlo, Burney, Squirrel, A1656, and Boy. (Explanation of some of these names has been revealed later). Children eventually awaken the rale who congratulate the strangers.
The couple stays in the cabin for the next few days while Henry heals. While living there, they are also facing themselves with the past of this mysterious family. And as they do, it changes their relationship, their realities and the projection of their life.
Story
Conceasing thing about Gray -house It shows how much it shows vs. Viewers go to the play with very little information, especially in their era of preview. Before purchasing tickets, I scattered the Internet in search of information about the story and could find very little. However, I still felt enough to buy tickets for a performance.
As I carefully disturb or even avoid any major plot elements, the scary elements of this story come more than not going. From the beginning, the audience was very bouncing because we did not know what kind of story we were watching. Was it supernatural, psychological, or scary work work? It was revealed, these three were.
Some jumping are scared, but they come from pure confusion rather than trying to get a shocking shock from the audience. We are shown things that do not see Max and Henry, and while we do not know what he really is, we know it does not feel good.
We are always one step ahead of Max and Henry but there is a step behind Rale and her children. And we are constantly struggling to catch members of Gray House, drawing with our visitors.
Is it good that the whole story has never been kept. We never get a complete picture, but we are enough that we can fill the spaces and with this information, our own thoughts about the subjects and messages that have been told to the story. It does not try to glorify any deep elements, and it does not paint even a foggy resolution.
Sometimes, people make the best of living in the wrong place at the wrong time. And this is what they do.
Display
Although I never went to the broadway show, I have seen a handful of stage plays in my life. Therefore, I know how different is from watching a performance on the screen and how effective it is to see these actors remembering all these lines and it seems perfect in one.
Artists dominate young characters depicted by both young adults and real children. And they all hold their grip against experienced adult characters. While I am not an expert in the field of acting, especially in the stage acting, or in the details of this particular game, once I did not notice an error in any performance.
In addition, not a music, while there is a reasonable amount of complete singing, mostly the Akapela style is complete with choreography. This really shows what a triple threat young artist is really.
To not proceed, Metcase shows what he does best: chews the scenes and one appears to have molded the stock character with complexity and attraction in three dimensions. Maslani and Sparks also express such raw and real fear, while also work in the correct doses of humor, anger and sadness.
I am very keen to watch this drama in the future and compare preview performance with an experienced one. Will the couple be removed or removed? What are the more ways to play these scenes? How will I explain this information?
My recommendation
I recommend Gray -house Whoever is looking for something other than the traditional broadway show. There is enough horror to satisfy a fan of style, but the accidental scary story is not enough to scare a member of the audience. This is not a scary that will wake up after seeing you. It is adding all the disconnected pieces that throw you from an act to the next and big messages that are trying to relay because it goes.
I can make this story one day in a great independent film. And being one of the first people to see it in its original form was a privilege.
Gray -house Currently, the 145 West 45th Street in New York City is running in Lisiyum Theater. It runs 1 hour, 40 minutes. You can buy tickets to see Gray -house Here!
