The Israeli army said that Shiri Bibas, one of the four bodies returned from Israel from Gaza on Thursday, is not hostage, as Hamas claimed.
Shiri Bibas, 33, and his two sons, Ariel and Kefir, who were now aged five and two, were reported to be a shocking of sorrow in Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has informed the Bibas family that the bodies of their sons have been identified after Hamas was given Israel to Israel on Thursday.
But the third body was not of his mother, IDF says.
Hamas has not yet commented on Israel’s claim.
“During the identity process, it was determined that the additional body received is not of Shiri Bibas, and no match for any other hostage. It is an anonymous, unknown body,” IDF posted on X.
“This is a violation of extremely severity by the Hamas terrorist organization, which is bound under agreement to return four deceased hostages. We demand that Hamas returns home with all our hostages.”
Shir, Ariel and KFIR Bibas 32 and nine months were aged during Hamas attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023.
Yordan Bibas, father of a 34 -year -old children, was released by Hamas on 1 February.
Israel has confirmed that the fourth body returned on Thursday was of experienced peace worker, Odd Lifashitz.
The release of bodies of hostages was agreed as part of the ceasefire deal which came into force on 19 January. Israel has confirmed that there will be eight.
Both sides agreed to exchange 33 hostages for about 1,900 prisoners by the end of the first six weeks of the ceasefire.
Negotiations on progressing in the next phase of the deal – under which the remaining surviving hostages will be released and the war will permanently finish – it was scheduled to begin earlier this month, but has not started yet.
Twenty-eight hostages and over 1,000 prisoners have been exchanged so far.
Twenty -six hostage taken on 7 October is still being held in Gaza. Three other hostages taken for more than a decade ago are also being organized. It is believed that about half of all the hostages in Gaza are still considered alive.
Around 1,200 people – most of the citizens – were killed on 7 October 2023 in Hamas attacks and 251 others were taken back to Gaza as hostages. According to Hamas’s Health Ministry, Israel launched a large -scale military campaign against Hamas, with at least 48,297 Palestinians – mainly citizens.
