Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal thanked the fans for his support as he receives a serious heart attack during a match earlier this week.
The 36 -year -old, 50 overs Dhaka was leading the Mohammedan Sporting Club in a match of the Premier Division Cricket League, when he was taken to a nearby hospital on Monday complaining of severe chest pain.
Since then he has been transferred to the capital for a large medical facility, where he lives in observation.
Tamim wrote on social media on Tuesday, “This is a heartbeat that keeps us alive, but we often forget that this beat can be closed at any moment without any warning.”
“I offer my heart gratitude and love for all of you. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. Without your love, I am nothing.”
The elder brother and former Bangladeshi International International Nafis along with other members of the Iqbal family was by Tamim’s Bedside.
Tamim was in critical condition when he was rushed to the hospital, in that facility, Medical Director, Razib Hasan, where Tamim received treatment, told reporters on Monday.
He also said that Tamim had to undergo surgery to transplant tents to clean arterial obstruction.
Tamim scored more than 15,000 runs for Bangladesh in a 15 -year career and remained a Bangladeshi who scored hundreds in all formats of international cricket.
