(Reuters) -Astralia’s federal court ruled that telecom firm Tailstra misled customers about downgrating up the upload of their broadband plan, the country’s competition regulator said on Friday.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACC) started a case against the company in December 2022, alleging that Telsra reduced the speed of broadband upload for around 9,000 residential customers in October and November 2020, Without informing them or reduced its allegations.
ACCC Commissioner Liza Carver said in a statement, “Telstra’s failure to inform customers that their broadband service was replaced.

ACCC is demanding punishment, consumer compensation and other orders, later, with final decisions to be made by the court on the scheduled date.
ACCC’s Carver said, “We expect the country’s largest retail broadband internet service provider better and consider these customers who eventually achieved a service that they did not agree, they should be compensated. “
Telstra did not immediately respond to the remarks request.
