Forward-loving: Apple devices have always focused a strong focus on health elements, and they will see a large upgradation next year. Not only is working on a modified version of the cupertino health app, but it is also making a virtual doctor and health coach operated by AI agents.
According to Bloomberg’s Apple expert Mark Gurman, new and advanced health facilities are part of the project called mulberry. Gurman said that he can be implemented in iOS 19.4, which is ready to come in spring or summer of 2026.
A part of Revamp will change the name of the health app to health+, suggests that it may come up with membership cost. This will collect data from other Apple or third-party equipment, such as Apple Watch, and will provide exercise, nutrition and general health-reforms based on this information.
It is expected that Apple Intelligence will play a big role in all this. Apple is currently training AI agent with data from physicians on employees. It also wants to bring external doctors including experts of sleep, nutrition, physical therapy, mental health and cardiology to make videos, which will be used to explain the health status and lifestyle changes. Gurman writes that Apple is looking for a “major doctor personality” to act as a host.
An example Gurman gives whether the health app detects a poor heart-drainage trend, resulting in showing a video that explains the risks of heart disease.
Gurman writes that Apple’s AI agents may be able to repeat a real doctor – to the extent that such a thing is possible.
The upgraded app may also have a strong focus on food tracking, something that has not been a major part of other Apple Health Apps. This will put Apple directly against the choice of myfitnesspal and noom. This user can also act as an individual trainer, using a device’s camera to analyze workouts and suggest for improvement.
Somewhere else, Gurman noted that for people with diabetes, especially type 1, non-invasive blood glucose monitoring capacity of apple watch can still be far away from several years. There have been reports that Apple has been working on technology for a long time, but the technical difficulties and importance of accurate reading means that continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) like Dexcom are the only real option for those for those pricking daily finger.
