Apple released iOS 18.4 beta on Friday, which had many new features. Some new features include priority notifications with Apple Intelligence, a new food section in the Apple News app and more. However, there was another small change that went under the radar, a one that is to be done with the carplay – especially on the large display.
Viewed by JACE on Threads, in iOS 18.4, Carplay can now include the third line of app icons from two. This means that the carplay will now take better advantage of the large underlying car display.
However, it is not available on every vehicle. The third line of the icon only appears on the large car display, and it is not clear what the threshold is. Just know that this is not for everyone. Marasters Notes that are present on the Toyota Tundra, which can be equipped with an up-to-inch display.

This is a very welcome change. Cars have been included with large and large displays over time, and the carplay is not necessarily scaled quite well for that change, and CarPlay 2 is still not anywhere.
It offers a happy middle ground for people with large displays, and makes the experience very useful. Now the need to feed with many home screen pages will be less.
