TL; Dr: Apple has allegedly designed to launch its next generation iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models equipped with M5 chips at the end of this year. The company is also asked to work on the M5 MacBook Air which can begin in the beginning of 2026.
In his latest power on the newsletter, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said that Apple is in the process of “advanced testing” on the new iPad Pro model, and they will possibly enter mass production in the second half of this year. Gurman predicted a new model to launch in October 2025.
Apple released the 2018 and 2022 iPad Pro models in October of those years, so it would not be surprising that if the next-Je models cover around the same time this year. However, the current iPad professionals of the company started in May 2024 with OLED display and a thin chassis. They are powered by M4 chip and support the Apple Pencil Pro.
The M5 MacBook Pro model is also expected to debut later this year. Gurman believes that new laptops will maintain the design of their predecessors, while 2026 MacBook professionals have been tipped to achieve a major design overhaul, including Thinner Chesis and OLED display.
Gurman says that Apple has started working on M5 MacBook Air, and it may be launched early next year. There is no possibility of any major design change in the new model, so buyers should expect the same, fan-less chassis similar to the current model. It is not clear that the company will re -form McBook Air Design in 2026 or 2027.
The new MacBook Air model will be upgraded to the current-generation 13-inch and 15-inch M4 models, which were declared earlier in 2024. The existing MacBooks are powered by the Air M4 chip and begin at $ 999, making them more cheaper than the M3 generation. While they maintain the design of their predecessors, they include a better 12MP center stage camera and 16GB RAM in the base model.
Cupertino is also working on new software to go with its upcoming hardware. The company is not only ready to announce new versions of its iOS, iPados, Macos, Watchos, TVOS, and Visionos operating system at its WWDC event next week, but it is also working on a modified version of its health app, adding AI-operated virtual doctors and health coaches.
