Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has been assigned a six -match suspension after throwing an object towards the referee during the final defeat of the club in Barcelona in Sevalona.
The German International, which was already replaced, was shown a direct red card with team partner Lucas Vazakwez to protest the late dishonesty against Kylian Mabappa.
According to the official match report of Referee Ricardo de Bergos BangaoTaxia, Rudigar, 32, was “rejected to throw an object from the technical field, which I missed me.”
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed the ban under Article 101, which controls “mild violence” against match officials.
The suspension will be served in La Liga Fixty – in the final five matches of the current season and the initial match of the 2025–26 campaign.
Rudigar underwent knee surgery on Tuesday, and is already expected to remember the remaining season.
While Real Madrid did not specify a recovery timeline, Spanish media has estimated six to eight weeks of absence, which also keeps its participation in the Club World Cup, starting from June 15, in doubt.
In the post -match statement, Rudigar apologized for the incident, accepting that his conduct “certainly had no excuse”.
RFEF admitted that Mafi was presented in an attempt to reduce the approval by Real Madrid.
Lucas Vazakwez has been suspended for two Copa del Ray matches to involve the incident, while dissatisfaction for Jude Belingham’s red card was overturned.
RFEF accepted the video evidence presented by the club, showing that Belingham did not work aggressively, unlike the referee’s report.
The match was stressed, ending in a dramatic win for Barcelona, defender Jules Kunde scored a decisive goal in a closely contested El Classico final.
In addition to disciplinary issues, Real Madrid also confirmed the explosion of fresh injury. Left-back Ferland Mendi has suffered a hamstring injury, while the center-back David Alba has broken the meniscus in his left knee.
