The controversial United Nations Special Coordination on Palestine Franceska Albani has been re -appointed for a tenure of one and three years. Many countries and organizations have condemned Albani on their history of antisemic comments. However, with the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) reviewing complaints about Albanis, a committee assured him of “detailed explanation” that it was not an antisemite.
“We are talking about one of the most obvious validities in the world of Hamas terrorism, which really says that Israel does not have the right to defend itself,” United Nations Executive Director Hilal Neur told Fox News Digital. “This is a terrible statement on the position of the United Nations today.”

The United Nations Secretary -General did not condemn the official accused of antisementism; America asked to give visas for travel
The United Nations Watch has long opposed Albanis and worked to expose its alleged violation of the code of conduct. On Friday, the organization presented a list of statements by governments around the world, condemning Albanis’ rhetoric. The statements came from America, France, Hungary, Netherlands, Israel, Argentina, Germany and UK
Additionally, before the resurrection of Albanese, the United Nations sent a letter to the United Nations opposing the renewal to UN Secretary -General Antonio Gutres. Mission also posted a statement on X.
“We (Albanese) condemn viral antisemitism, which displays Israel and supports Hamas. He has clearly violated the United Nations Code of Conduct and is disqualified for its role. Its re -evaluation (United Nations) reflects the support for antisemitic hatred and terrorism,” the US posted the UN.
The House Foreign Affairs Committee also sent a letter to UNHRC President Jürg Lauber, which expressed its opposition to the re -appointment of Albanis. In its letter, the committee said that Albanese’s rhetoric stained the United Nations as an institution and its position.
The House Foreign Affairs Committee wrote, “Ms. Albanis unplacedly uses its position of a United Nations, which is a special relationship to legalize antisemtic trops, serving as Hamas’s apologists.”

In a violation of his legal duties under 8/PRST/2, Lauber did not relay complaints about Albanis for a committee, which Neur described as “toothless” with the membership of “Franceska Albani’s best friends”.
In response to the complaints submitted by UN Watch in June and July 2024, the committee wrote that “some of their tweets may appear as not being in line with the code of conduct and can be interpreted by some people as an antisemic.” However, the committee also stated that they were “confident” by Albanis’s “detailed explanation” that they were not in violation of the code of conduct.

Albanese has faced allegations of antisementism since assuming special coordination in May 2022. The Anti-Defense League has a list of Albani’s statements which have been considered antisementary. Some statements are before 2014, about 10 years before his appointment in his current position.
In February 2024, Albanis was condemned by France and Germany, after saying that the October 7 incidents of French President Emmanuel Macron Hamas were wrong to call our century “the largest antisementum genocide of our century”. In his response, he said “7/10 victims were killed not in their Jewish religion but in response to Israel’s oppression.”
France stated that the albani attacks seemed to be “justified” and his comment “was all more condemnable that the fight against all forms of Jewish and racism is in the heart of the establishment of the United Nations,” according to the ADL.
