AMD has given only two weeks of time since launching Radeon RX 9070 XT and will be an understanding to say that it is a popular release. Reports suggest that AMD has already sent the 200,000 RX 9070 series to GPU, and a few days ago, AMD Japan claimed that it had reached 45% market stake. It is unclear how accurate any of these claims are, but we know through our own sources that AMD has already sold 9070 series to GPU, which has sold its entire gaFors 50 series compared to Nvidia, which is quite surprising.
Despite the two -month head begins, NVidia’s GEFORCE GPU’s poor availability is starting to give AMD an angle to win some market share back in the PC market. It can tilt well for AMD in the long term, but of course, we will have to wait and see how it plays over time.
Why compare RTX 5070 TI with RX 9070 Xt?
While a competitive market is great for consumers, we are more interested that the company is offering better price products. For this comparison, we are looking closely on RX 9070 XT and RTX 5070 TI.
You can argue – and something of course – that Radeon 9070 XT is priced close to 5070 compared to 5070 TI, and it is based on MSRP. However, since we do not recommend buying RTX 5070, there is a very low point to compare, at least not for our initial comparison.
We can include RTX 5070 in this data set in the future, but currently we are more interested in 5070 ti vs. 9070 xt match-ups-and we suspect that there are many of you. As a side note, we will continue to provide periodic GPU pricing updates, as we had released last week, so be sure to cross this data with future pricing trends.

Grand Theft Auto V increased
We are starting with a thick location for Radeon GPU. The new Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced version 5070 does not run almost at 9070 XT as compared to TI. As a result, it is 29% slow at 1440p and 24% slow at 4K. Not ideal, but hopefully AMD can improve performance with future driver updates.
Asset Corsa Competition
Performance in ACC was also less. It was definitely playable on Radeon GPU, but much weakened than 5070 TI – 35% slow on 1440p and 37% slow at 4K. Then, we are expecting improvement through drivers.
Counter-Strike 2
RX 9070 xt was more competitive here, with 5070 TI at 1440p just 10% and 4K back to 13%.
Rocket league
The results of the rocket league were unexpected. Somehow, RX 9070 XT was 41% faster than 5070 TI at XT 1440p and 36% faster at 4K. This possibility indicates a Geforce driver issue, which is surprising to give the popularity and maturity of the rocket league. You hope that this is Nvidia in a dial.
Hunt Shodown 1896
The title was another weak place for AMD, with 35% slow at 9070 xt 1440p and 39% slow at 4K. This can be another case of driver adaptation yet.
Rivalry
Marvel rival was far more competitive. The RX 9070 XT was just 7% slow at 1440p and 11% slow at 4K, which is not bad given that it is currently about 17% less.
Black myth vukong
With very high ray trace, RX 9070 Xt performs well in Black Myth Kong. This increases 5070 TIs only 6% at 1440p and up to 10% at 4K, making it a solid result in overall.
Come state: Salvation II
RX 9070 XT Kingdom Low: Deliverance II performs quite well, and it is possible that the radon performance has generally improved because we first benchmark the title. In this case, 9070 xt 1440p had 13% slower than 5070 TI and 8% slow at 4K.
Riftbreaker
RiftBreaker has never been a strong title for AMD, and this trend continues here. 9070 xt 1440p had 20% slow and 24% slower than 5070 TI.
F1 24
F1 24 using Ultra High PreSet, which enables Ray Tresing, has traditionally hurt the Radeon GPU performance. However, with RDNA 4, it is no longer so. 9070 XT matched 5070 TI in both tested resolutions.
war Thunder
We tested the thunder of the war using the DX12 mode, which benefits Radeon GPUS. Nevertheless, 9070 xt was still 18% slower than 5070 ti at 1440p and 13% slow at 4K.
Monster hunter wilds
Interestingly, RX 9070 XT was faster at 1440p, defeated 5070 TI with a modest 6% margin. At 4K, the performance between the two was almost the same.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
A similar result was seen in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, where 9070 XT was 10% faster at 1440p, but essentially gave the same performance at 4K.
Horizon forbidden west
The 9070 XT gave a better performance in the two resolutions, performing 5070 TIs better, the horizon prohibited the West. At 1440p, we saw 10% uplift, and on 4K, 11% improvement.
Total War: Warhaimmer III
Warhammer III is a strong title for AMD. Here, 9070 XT led 5070 TI at 1440p and 12% at 4K – impressive margin, especially looking at the low price of Radeon GPU.
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
In Indiana Jones, there is a significant improvement in disabled path tracing and performance in the Great Circle. Although the game still uses Ray Tresing, 9070 XT was 15% slow compared to 5070 TI at 1440p, which was 107 FPS average, which is quite good. At 4K, it was 21% slow, on average 67 FPS distributed. Not great, but still very playable.
Warhamamer 40,000: Space Marine 2
NVIDIA has so far addressed Blackwell’s weak performance in Space Marine 2, although she has accepted an issue with this title. Currently, in more demanding scenes, the GPU struggles more than the 5070 TI, which allowed 9070 XT to gain 17% on 1440p and a 36% lead at 4K.
Gear 5
We spent a lot of time investigating Radon’s performance issues in Gears 5. While the game was playable and overall performance was decent, 9070 XT was much slower than 5070 TI – 32% at 1440p and 33% at 4K. We are uncertain why, but it was a clear disadvantage to AMD.
Rainbow six siege
Thankfully, the performance in the popular rainbow six siege was great. 9070 XT was just 7% slow compared to 5070 ti at 1440p, both GPU pushed over 300 FPS well. On 4K, Radeon GPU was only 6% slow, both had excellent performance in 200 FPS – this resolution.
Call of duty: Black Oms 6
As usual, the call of duty remains a strong title for Radon, and Black Oms 6 is no exception. 9070 XT defeated 5070 TI at 1440p at 22% and 19% at 4K, marking a solid victory for AMD.
Stocker 2: Chorbobil’s heart
9070 XT left 5070 ti in stocker 2 at 1440p at 9% and then only 5% at 4K, overall, overall, quite competitive results, and we think it is sufficient personal game data. Let us see how these GPUs have been tested in all 55 games.
Performance Summary
50 games average @ 1440p
In our day review with 18 games, we found Radeon 9070 XT 6% slower than the RTX 5070 TI. The good news is that this data was representative of a comprehensive sample, as this 55-game benchmark showed 9070 XT at just 5% slower than 5070 TI.
Radeon was the only important exterior rocket league in favor of GPU, where 9070 xt was surprisingly 41% faster. On the other hand, there were some titles where it was quite slow, in which the Esateo Course Competition, Hunt Shodown, Gear 5 and GTA V were extended.
For 65% of the tested 65% of the games – 36 out of 55 – the performance margin was in 10% or less direction, which aligns with a 5% average difference in total. Let’s take a look at 4K data now.
50 game average @ 4k
In our earlier review, we found 9070 XT 1% slower than 5070 ti at 4K. With extended 55-game data set, it ends 5% slow, which shows 4% variance, which is quite small.
Additional Title – Hunt Shodown, ACC, Gear 5, Gotham Nights, Homeworm 3, GTA V Enhanted, and Riftbreaker – a significant impact on the overall performance of 9070XT. Nevertheless, the loss of 5% is not terrible, especially given that Radeon GPU costs at least 17% lower.
What we learned
Across a wide range of games, Radeon RX 9070 xt, average, is about 5% slow compared to the GEFORCE RTX 5070 TI. Therefore, generally, the performance is quite close. Depending on MSRP – $ 600 for 9070 XT and $ 750 for 5070 TI – Radeon GPU is priced at 20% lower, which offers about 15% better price.
Given the recent retail pricing, we found that 9070 XT usually sold in $ 750, while RTX 5070 TI goes to about $ 900, making Radeon GPU 17% cheaper and about 12% better price. In fact, whatever model you can probably buy is available at a reasonable price, and it is more likely to be a Radeon GPU, as 9070 xt 5070 is more easily available than 5070 ti.
But in a world where both will be easily available, we believe Radeon 9070 XT must be at least 15% cheaper to earn our recommendation on 5070 ti. At 10% difference, the option can go in any way. And if the price difference is less than 10%, the RTX 5070 ti makes more understanding, thanks to the DLSS 4, Superior Ray Tresing performance, and usually a slightly slightly faster.
For electricity consumption and thermal-since we often ask about these in GPU comparisons-look at our day-one launch reviews. The use of power is not changed, and thermal performance varies very different based on specific models, so we recommend checking individual partner card reviews for that information.
DLSS 4 vs FSR 4
This is definitely there is definitely a major sales point of GeForce 5070 TI and circling back on our mention of DLSS 4. However, after extensive testing, we found the new FSR4 technology of AMD as a major jump. This is much better than FSR 3 and in most cases, DLSS performs better than 3. In fact, we found that it usually sits between DLSS 3 and DLSS 4, which is a major win for AMD and enhances its GPU’s appeal.
Nvidia still wins in game support, so AMD will need to improve the field if it wants to compete fully with DLSS 4. But as it stands, the AMD’s apascling technique is definitely at a more competitive level than before.
For Ray Tracing Performance, Nvidia is still edge, but the latest Radon has significantly reduced the difference. In the context of meaningful ray trace performance, 9070 XT AMD flagship of previous generation, RX 7900 is 26% faster than XTX. From “meaningful”, we mean that Ray Tracing actually replaces visual experience-Alan Wake 2, Cyberpank 2077, Dyeing Light 2, Spider-Man and Metro Exodus.
In those games, 9070 XT was highly competitive with 5070 TI. However, when we include Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Black Myth Wukong, Radon GPU ends at 20% on average. Nevertheless, with quality FSR upscaling enabled on 1440p, 9070 XT provides very usable performance with rays tragedy effects, so we are no longer in a position where Radeon Gpus was useless for any severe ray.
Keeping everything in mind, we feel that Radeon RX 9070 matches equally equally with XT RTX 5070 TI. So we recommend a discount of 15% as a tipping point to choose Radeon. And of course, this is a general recommendation – if you play title mainly like ACC, Hunt Shodown, Geors 5, or GTA V, then GeForce GPU will probably provide more consistent demonstrations, preventing improving future driver from AMD, So as usual you try to do research on performance for sports that you play the most.
