Washington Capital Superstar Alex Ovechin is close to an NHL scoring record that many views were unbreakable.
The 39-year-old Ovechin Wayne Greatzaki’s all-time NHL goal is within a distance away from a record 894 record. “The Great One” scored his last goal on March 29, 1999. “The Great Eight” can cross the mark 26 very well that can overtake Mark 26 26. Years later.
Ovechkin entered 2024–25 NHL season with 853 career NHL goals. He started the season with a red-hot with 15 goals in 18 games. But after suffering from a broken fibula in November, he missed for five weeks. At that time, he did not affect his goal-scoring leaders: he scored four goals in his first five matches from the injury.
With the remaining 25 games in the regular session, Ovechin currently ranks seventh in NHL with 28 goals in 40 games. Winger on Sunday scored a goal against Admonton Oilers. Scored a goal of 880 and number 881, which found a shot just below a shot to keep 14 goals away from crossing Greatzaki.
“It’s some time, whether it’s been late this year, early next year, whenever,” Greatzaki told NHL.com in this season about the possibility of breaking Owchin’s record this season. “I mean, he is a great player. He is a great goal scorer.”
NHL Commissioner Gary Betman said in December that he would follow Owchin when he would be with Greatzaki within four or five goals of the record.
Ovechin continued to pursue the Greatzaki mark on Sunday when Capital Connor was hosting McDavid and Admonton Oilers.
We will track the race of ovchen 894 goals and all beyond all season.
